ABOUT NEPAL

A Land-Locked country bordered by China to the north and by the India to east, Nepal lies on the shoulder of Southern Himalayas. Her geo-physical structure is divided into three different distinct parts- the Himalayan, Mountain & Terai region.

It's topography stretches not only from the most low land of the Terai, but also does it have the world's tallest mountains, including the cloud-hugging Everest, Annapurna and so on.

Constitutionally, nepali is the national language of Nepal. However, educated people can understand and speak English as well.

Nepal Time is 5 hours 45 minutes ahead of GMT and 15 minutes ahead of Indian standard time.

Climate:
Nepal has four major seasons, namely:
(1)     Winter  :        December - February
(2) Spring       : March - May
(3) Summer : June - August
(4) Autumn                   :         September - November.                

People & Religion



Nepalese people are mainly divided into two distinct groups: Indo-Aryans and the Mongoloids. Kathmandu Valley is the spiritual and cultural meeting point of all these groups. Nepal is the only Hindu kingdom in the world. Nepal is the birthplace of Lord Buddha, the Light of Asia. There is a complex blending of Hinduism and Buddhism in Nepal.
Beside of these, various other religions including Islam, Jain and so forth are also being observed and practiced in Nepal. In essence, Nepal has been experiencing perfect religious harmony over the time immemorial.
